Untitled Murder Mystery That Actually Will Probably Turn Out Happy. Go figure!

I woke up to a shout. I didn't start panicking, I just rolled over and groaned. There was another shout. Angrily, I grabbed the pillow out from under my head and pulled it over my ear. Yet another shout came. There was the sound of a slamming door.
I flung the pillow at the wall and stomped angrily out of the door.
“SHUT UP!” I hollered, furious. I really didn't like being up at 2 AM. Of course, I had no idea what the shouting had been about. But, it stopped now.
I went back into my room and got back in my bed. I tried to sleep, but I couldn't shake this feeling of unease. So, when my alarm went off at 6 AM I was already dressed and in a pretty grumpy mood.
I had an hour before I had to leave for school. I had already put on my blue eyeliner, blue mascara, shiny pink lip gloss, and blue eyeshadow. For the past four hours I had really just applied make-up.
Being incredibly bored, I just decided to give up and go downstairs and grab something to eat. I began walking down the stairs when I noticed that my older brother's door was open. He was never up this early.
“Hey, Justin? You up?” There was no reply. I peeked my head in the room and let out a blood curdling scream as I saw what was in front of me.
Two bodies were lying on the floor, both unmoving with a puddle of dark liquid beneath them. It hadn't taken me long to figure out that the liquid was blood and that the two bodies were my older sister and brother. It also didn't take me long to figure out what had happened. I replayed through the events in my head.
The scream had been my older sister. She had run into my older brother's room (which was the door slamming). She must've been scared because she never went to my older brother for help. They were kind of on a speak-politely-but-really-insult-the-other relationship.
I ran over to them and hysterically began crying and screaming, “JUSTIN! LYDIA! GET UP! Get up! Get...up.” I shook them but drew my hand back as I realized how cold they were. I wouldn't let the word enter my head. But, somehow, it seeped through. Dead, they were dead. This caused me to scream again. Other words began coming into my head. Killed, murdered, slaughtered, gone.
I let out another anguished scream, still clutching them both fiercely. I screamed and screamed and screamed. I kept on screaming, even after my voice had almost gone.
Where were my parents? Who killed Justin and Lydia? How could I have told them to shut up? How were they gone?
There was a loud banging on the door and the bell rang about a dozen times. I didn't get up. I didn't even move. I just kept on screaming and crying. Finally, the door was forced open and about four people came rushing in. The first one to reach me was Ryan.
Ryan didn't know me that well. We were more of acquaintances. However, I had been crushing on him for over a year now. He also lived across the street from me. When he saw the two bodies and me crying, screaming, and clutching them tightly, he let out a short cry. Soon, three other people- Emily, George, and Jen- were up there.
Emily, my neighbor on the right was the mother of Jen and the wife of George. Jen, just happened to be my best friend. George ushered Ryan, Emily, and Jen out the door. He tried to pull me up and out but I wouldn't move.
“I can't go.” I managed to croak. Although he couldn't have heard me, he understood that I wasn't going to move. Instead, he turned around and said, “Emily, call 911.”
His wife nodded and located the phone. Meanwhile, George was talking me, or trying, to talk me out of hysteria.
“Elizabeth,” he began sternly. His voice softened, “Elizabeth, where are your parents?”
“I-I don't know.” I croaked.
“Boy, go get her some water.” George told Ryan, not even knowing him.
“Sorry, sir. I really don't know my way around the house.” He replied.
George didn't even need to say anything to Jen. Jen immediately went into action and dragged Ryan down the stairs.
“I'll show you where it is.” She said.
The rest of it all was a blur to me. I remembered the police and ambulance coming. I also remembered Justin and Lydia getting put into the ambulance and them carrying me to the ambulance. But, the rest of it was a blur. I had fainted with exhaustion and over-excitement.
My eyes cracked open. Where was I? I wondered. Suddenly, it all came flooding back to me. I let out a scream. A nurse was suddenly at my side,
“Calm down. You're okay.”
“WhereamI? Whathappened? Where'reJustinandLydia? Didyoufindmyparents? WheredidGeorgeandJengo? Whattimeisit? HowlonghaveIbeenout?” I asked. It all came out as a jumbled mess.
The nurse tried to calm me down, but it didn't work. Finally, she just called the doctor over.
“Hello, Elizabeth. I am doctor Harrison. I understand that you are very confused. If you would just let me explain.”
“It's Lizzy.” I added.
“Okay, Lizzy,” he corrected, “can I please explain now?” With a nod from me, he began his explanation. “You are at the Red Wood Hospital. You fainted around 6:30 this morning. Right now it is about noon. George and Emily are outside waiting and Jennifer and Ryan are at school.” When he saw my face he put up a hand, “Don't worry, you have been excused from school.”
“Where are my parents and Justin and Lydia?” I asked.
A pained look came across his face. “I can't tell you if you won't stay calm.” He said.
“I will be calm!”
“Rish, would you please drug her?” Doctor Harrison asked the nurse.
“NO! I want you to tell me!” I cried.
“I will, this will just make you tired.” The doctor assured me. I began protesting but I immediately felt a wave of calm wash over me. “Your parents were found dead in their room. Your parents, sister, and brother are all currently in the police's custody and they are running tests. It seems that they were murdered.
“Your house is currently closed off to the public and the police are investigating. There seem to be a lot of news reporters outside of your house, but they are all under control. Don't worry. Just get some sleep and relax.” The doctor finished.
I fought to keep my eyes open but in the end I failed and I was sent into darkness and into my horrible nightmares.
When I came to again, the clock was at 6 PM. I realized how empty my stomach was and that I hadn't eaten anything all day. However, I didn't feel hungry. I was still too shocked to feel any hunger. I looked around the room.
Seated next to my bed was a worried looking Jen and a totally bored looking Ryan. Why was Ryan here? I could see why Jen was here but not Ryan. I sat up and realized that my hands were blood soaked. They had dried blood on them.
My eyes got all wet and I angrily brushed the unfallen tears away.
“Lizzy, how are you feeling?” Jen asked me worriedly.
“Disturbed and upset, how about you?” I snapped back.
Jen looked upset as the harsh words slipped out.
“I'm sorry, Jen. I just...” I left my words hanging but she got the gist of them.
“Nah, it's cool.” Jen looked at my hands. “Do you want me to help you over to the bathroom so you can wash your hands?” Jen asked me.
“I can walk there by myself.” I put my feet onto the floor and nearly fell over. But, a strong arm had caught my by the waist. With surprise I realized that this was Ryan's hand. Had I not been so upset, I would've just about died.
Ryan let me go and handed me over to Jen without a word. Jen escorted me over to the bathroom where she turned on the warm water for me.
“Why was Ryan there?” I asked.
“Well, the way I heard it, Ben, Ryan's best friend, was too busy to come himself, so he told Ryan to come for him.” Jen read my thoughts, “Yes, apparently Ben has a thing for you. When Ryan told him the news on the bus, he looked really worried.”
“Hey, Jen?” I began.
“Yeah, what?”
“Thanks.”
“Why are you thanking me?” She asked quizzically.
“Because you were there for me, and you still are. You came over and went to action to help me. And now you are here, just waiting for me to come to.”
“Seriously, it was nothing. I'm just doing what any friend would do.”
I hugged Jen tightly. “Oh, sorry. My hands are wet.”
“Don't worry about it, it will dry. Now let's go figure out what is going on.”
Jen and I walked back into my room where Dr. Harrison was waiting for our return.
“Ah, there you are. Well, it seems that you can leave. However, in your current position, things need to be arranged. So, George and Emily will make room for you at their house. You will finish out the rest of the school week and then on Friday, after school, some people will come and talk to you.”
“But, I need to go home and get my things.” I protested.
“I really am not informed on anything else. George and Emily are outside.”
I ran out of the room to Emily and George, Jen trailing close behind.
“I need to go home!” I cried. “I need to go and get some things!”
“Calm down, we have already arranged this with the police. They will give you a few hours to collect your belongings. You can leave your things in the house, but anything you want for the next week must be taken out because they will close off your house for a while.” George explained to me.
I nodded grimly. This wasn't turning out like I had wanted it to. I had been doing a lot of thinking. What if this were part of a reality TV show, or a sick joke? Maybe even a fake murder. But, with the way things were going I knew that it had to be what it seemed- a murder.
I realized that I was the only witness to the events. I hadn't actually seen it happen, but who knew that? Another thought hit me. What if they thought that I murdered my family? What then?
My thoughts were interrupted by George, “Elizabeth, let's go. They only gave us 3 hours.”
“Right, I'm coming.” I replied.
We got into George's car and he drove me home.

Really going to happen

All right. I know that I posted that I would post something last weekend. But, I didn't end up doing so. For that, I am sorry. But, I will post something this weekend. I have been working on my most recent piece and I will put it up for everyone to see... well some of it. It isn't the type of work that I usually right, it is kind of a murder mystery. Or so I will think it will turn out. We'll see how it pans out.
